Getting Started
TappRFID works out of the box with no account required. You can be tracking your first routine in under five minutes.
1. Install and launch
Section titled “1. Install and launch”Download TappRFID from the App Store and open it. You’ll see the onboarding flow on first launch — it introduces the modules and asks for notification permission.
You have 3 days to try everything. No account or payment is needed during the trial.
2. Create your first task
Section titled “2. Create your first task”- Go to the Tasks tab.
- Tap + (top right).
- Enter a name — something you do regularly. Examples: “Brush teeth”, “Take vitamins”, “Walk dog”.
- Set an interval — how often you need to do this. Daily is the most common.
- Optionally set a reminder time.
- Tap Save.
Your task appears in the list with its status dot. Since it’s new, it starts as overdue to prompt your first completion.
Tap the task row to mark it done. The dot will turn green.
3. Link an NFC tag (optional but recommended)
Section titled “3. Link an NFC tag (optional but recommended)”NFC tags make completion instant — no unlocking, no menus.
- Get an NFC sticker (NTAG213 or similar, available cheaply online).
- Open your task.
- Tap Link NFC Tag.
- Hold the sticker near the top of your iPhone.
- Wait for the write confirmation.
- Stick the tag somewhere that makes sense — bathroom mirror, coffee maker, gym bag.
Now tapping your phone to the sticker completes the task automatically.
See NFC Tags for more details, troubleshooting, and placement ideas.
4. Add a widget
Section titled “4. Add a widget”Put a Task Overview widget on your Home or Lock Screen to see your task status without opening the app.
- Long-press your Home Screen.
- Tap + → search TappRFID.
- Choose Task Overview and your preferred size.
- Tap Add Widget.
See Widgets for all four widget types.
5. Explore the other modules

- Go to Settings → Cloud Account.
- Sign in or create an account.
- Enable Cloud Sync.
See Cloud Sync and Home Assistant for full details.
